Aged Care ICT Transformation.

July 2023 – December 2024

Service Area

Strategy, Governance and Architecture.

Engagement Type

Key personnel supplied for enterprise architecture, business architecture, investment planning and governance support.

The Challenge

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing required senior architecture and investment planning capability to support a major aged care ICT transformation.

The program needed a long-term roadmap to guide the transition from fragmented legacy systems to a more unified, citizen-centric digital platform. This required clear architectural direction, investment sequencing, business case support, benefits planning and governance arrangements that could withstand executive and assurance scrutiny.

The work also required close alignment between policy, delivery, architecture and finance stakeholders across a complex multi-year reform environment.

Pinaka’s Role

Pinaka provided senior key personnel with deep Commonwealth architecture, business architecture and transformation experience to support the Department’s aged care ICT roadmap and investment planning activities.

The supplied personnel contributed to the development of a 10-year transformation roadmap, including a clear target-state vision and staged delivery horizons covering foundation, modernisation and future innovation.

They also supported reference architecture development, investment business case preparation, benefits planning, governance design and transition sequencing. The role required translating policy intent and reform priorities into practical architecture and investment artefacts that could support long-term delivery decisions.
